Although accidents are scarce in modern interstellar traffic, they still happen sometimes. Most accidents fortunately make no casualties, fuel shortage still is the most common problem. If you run out of fuel and drop back to normal space close to a black hole you're in trouble. The likeliness of such an event occuring more than once in a million years is quite small so most ship insurances will be happy to get payed to protect you against such and other unlikely events. If it however does happen, they are, to make matters worse, likely to react inadequately.
Normally the story would end here, and all this would be rather dull and pointless. However when you are the proud captain of the mighty strong towship sent for the cargo ship and drop into space at the given coordinates, this story doesn't have to be over yet. From this point the game starts, the player is sucked into a wormhole behind which there are endless tunnels with a very diverse interstellar community. Some natives, some alien races sucked in generations ago, even humans have already arrived in the endless realms behind the wormhole. Not all of the inhabitants are nice, but you didn't come here to make friends. The ultimate goal is to get back home, but how? |
